"These people with the solar and wind power are great but the last time I checked neither one of those processes where going to power the cars and trucks on the road today. We keeping looking for a magic battery or fuel cell to solve the problem. Even if there was such an item, to develop it and put it in production would take 5-7 years. Then we have over 200 million cars on the road today which still use gas, to say nothing about going up with an effective replacement for the diesel truck which runs our country. The answer is not in oil but coal. We should be producing Gas from coal. The process captures all the pollutants and uses them for products such as fertilizers. Gasification and liquefaction can remove nearly all of the sulfur and mercury from the coal, dramatically reducing pollutant emissions. If carbon sequestration is proven to be effective, coal-derived liquid fuels could have lower CO2 emissions than conventional diesel or gasoline. A recent conference showed it would be profitable if oil stayed above $25 to $40 a barrel. Like we will ever see it that low. In addition to sequestration of the CO2 emissions other processes such as converting CO2 to methanol is another process which appears to have a great deal of merit. Founded in 2006, Carbon Recycling International, Ehf, captures carbon recycling from industrial emissions and convert carbon dioxide to methanol, gasoline and diesel. Bottom line is these plants to produce them do not have to be large scale operations but if we start today they can be online within 5 years. The big issue is CO2 emissions, which if we have states pass laws exempted them from CO2 guidelines for the first 7 years of operations, then have them phase in CO2 emissions guidelines technology should be refined to implement an effective CO2 capture process either through sequestration or converting to methanol."

"Our elected officials have abandoned their nation and the duty they signed on for. It's all for political and personal gain now days. They let us suffer for this plague called "political correctness" that has crippled our common sense. Environmental nutcases have hijacked our leaders and turned them against us. I would like to see a national movement to oust ALL the incumbents and turn the White House over to new elected officials that (hopefully) would stop playing games and return us to common sense policy making. God Bless us all...we certainly need it!"

"Our country needs to become selfsufficient and keep our money here. My father had interest in oil/gas wells in WV and yet on a recent trip (the gas cost nearly doubled) as we traveled to our"home state" we realized none of the wells were active. What's wrong with that picture? Are we so wealthy that we can spend extravigant costs for oil? That sounds alot like going out to a buffet each night when the freezer is full. It's getting harded to make ends meet and we are doing alot of this to ourselves and blaming everyone else instead of taking an active roll in our America. This is not the fault of our President...but you do have to look in the direction of the party that has tied his hands in so many efforts to control these soaring gouging raising fuel costs. It is time to band together. We best be voting Republican again."

"It is a crime against the people of the United States to take our money and buy foriegn oil when we have all the resources here in our own country. Tree huggers don't want to destroy land but expect us to pay horrible prices for our oil so we can look at mountains and valleys. We will not be able to buy gas for these pleasure trips and all we will have to look at is poverty. I say get this message out fast."

"Drilling here in the United States is the quickest solution to this energy crisis. Sure it will take some time to see results but nowhere near the amount of time required to explore alternative sources. These die hard global warming alarmists politicians can't be so ignorant as to actually believe otherwise. Don't these elitists realize that the engine driving this economy is hard working Americans driving to work every day? When it becomes too expensive to go to work, then what? A more accurate description of these egotistical villains should be traitor."

"I wrote a letter to my senators (NJ)Lautenberg and Menendez telling them that I signed this petition. I also explained that I will only be purchasing gasoline from companies that don't import oil from the Middle East or Venezuela. My local gas stations that use domestic oil in New Jersey are Hess and Valero. They will get all of my business from now on. Even if the Exxon across the street is cheaper. Let's make sure we are heard."

"We are retired and have lived in the mountains for 11 years. We can't sell our house and get closer to town because of housing market. We are very fearful about heating our house this winter with propane. We go to town and nowhere else because we are afraid and have to save our money. I couldnt even go to see my children on the fourth of July. We are definitely frightened and we have worked all our lives hard and now we have to worry. We save every penney we can for heat this winter and the fuel prices and this whole mess I blame on the government. They have their heads in the sand unless their fighting the opposing party. Obama will bring this great country to its knees, and McCain has no clue about economy. I like McCain because he doesnt vote party lines. He needs Romney but that won't happen. What happened to this great country? What do our grandchildren have to face. We let this happen. Its time to put a stop to this bipartisan bickering like children."

"We of the United States have being hearing about alternative fuels for a very long time. Now we are in desperate need of help with our fuels. What is it going to take to get our Politicians to wake up and listen to the little people. We are getting very frustrated with both parties. My daughter can't afford to look for a job, unless we give her gas money. She has 3 children to support. The higher gas prices are effecting everything."

"I would like to see a petition started to impeach our present congress members for misfeasance and malfeasance in the performance of their duties for the American people. They have turned the idea of "public servant" into a ruling class mentality. Exactly what the founding fathers warned about big government and unelected bureaucracrats."
