I have many doctor appointments and can't afford the gas. I am "sick" of both parties. At least "Do something" even if it is wrong - just make a decision for the "People" not to line their own pockets. Give us and all military/veterans a decent pay raise without taking it back. Example: Congress takes a 5% increase and give Social Security a 3% but take 3/4 of it back.Look at the numbers: Congress $150,000 x .05 = $7,500. Soc. Sec. $900 x .03 = $27.00. That's not much for us. Next point: Gas is $4.00/gal and we can't drill because it will take 10 years to produce. What will the cost be 10 years from now if we don't drill? If a hurricane does develop there will most assuredly be another price increase. For US oil independence to come from any new domestic drilling efforts something has also to be done about the excessive speculation.
